PROJECT RATTLES
Like all brilliant projects, it began with two bored college kids looking for cheap thrills. For the sum of $400, Sam and his friend Lance bought a bright teal 1996 Ford Escort, which they named Rattles (after the many sounds it made). They were excited to crash into things, jump some railroad tracks, and eventually push it off a cliff. But it turned out to be a brilliant little car.

Over the past few years, Sam has had 6 variants of the '90s Ford Escort and has clocked over 30,000 miles driving them. He has attended multiple RADwood shows, where the car adds to the celebration of '80s and '90s culture. He documents his journeys on Instagram, @projectrattles.
